Trekking in nepal
in Rhododendron trekking, This trek unfolds in a superb region,
very rich in cultural diversity varying according to the altitudes.
With terraced fields ( of rice, wheat) on the way, you will pass
through numerous ethnically different villages ( Tamangs, Sherpas,
Tibetans, Brahmins ) always accompanied by the ever-smiling &
welcoming villagers. Immense rhododendrons forests (from 2000m
onwards) with 10m high trees blossoming in March/April, and many
orchids hanging on the mosses of the trees. An authentic region
less touched by tourism. Panoramic views over the majestic Himalayan
summits, especially from Tarkhegyang and Sarmathang. Demands
a little walking experience a fair physical condition. (1000m
of uphill walk on the 1st, 3rd and 4th day). ALTITUDE MAXIMUM.

|
D.I : Arrival in Kathmandu (alt 1300M). Welcome
at the aéroport. and transfer to the hotel . Hotel included
D.2 :Free day in Kathmandu
D.3 : Leaving Kathmandu in local bus for Sundarijal
(45mn), village at 1500m, and beginning of trek. A stiff climb
up to the pass of LEKH at an altitude of 2438m followed by a
descent to Pathi Banjyang (1768M). Night in Pathi Banjyang.
D.4 : Leaving Pati Banjyang for Gul Banjyang,
about 6 hours of progressive uphill walk by the tracks amidst
the terraced fields. Gul Banjyang lies at an altitude of 2142m.
D.5 : Leaving Gul Banjyang for Mangegot 3250m
and Tharepathi Pass 3490m, the highest point of the trek. An
imposing spectacle of glaciers, a magnificient view of Langtang
Himal.
D.6 : Leaving Tharepathi for the Sherpa village
of Melamchi Gaon village at 2600m. A very authentic village who
has protect his culture.
D.7 : Leaving Melamchi gaon for the village
of Tarkhegayang, Sherpa and Tibetan village at 2600m. This is
the biggest village of the region, with a temple and a Buddhist
monastery. 6 hours of walk.
D.8 : Leaving Tarkhegayang by the ridge bordered
by the rhododendrons and the amazing forests with wild orchids
hanging from the trees. Arrival in Sarmathang 2600m, last Sherpa
village. In the morning, magnificient view on the glaciers from
the temple .
D.9: Leaving Sarmathang for Talamarang 1220m
by descending towards the river Melamchi Khola that you will
follow for a considerable time. Night in Talamarang/Gyalthum
at "2 Rivers Lodge" (near our free dispensary).
D.10 : Last day of the trek: Short walk of 3
hours to reach the village of Melamchi Pul Bazar to take a local
bus for Kathmandu with a last look on the Himalayan panorama
from Dhulikel, along the road. . Same hotal in Kathmandu (included

in lodge with standard hotel:
welcome at airport,transfer
hotel / airport. standard hotel with breakfast inclusive rooms
with shower, hot water near the center of Thamel. All treks are
in full board. Accommodation and meals in the Lodges (good
quality locale food, the meals are not order by each client in
every lodge, but following the menu proposed by the guide).
All the transports (go/back on the places of trek and during
the trek). Accompany by a professional Guide and one porter for
2 persons to carry your bags (maximum 20 kg for 2 persons). Trekking
permit and reconfirmation of your return plane ticket.

TREK UNDER TENT: Camping trek includes a team of guide,
assistant, cook & porters to accompany you. Porters carry
all trekking gears, food, fuel, & personal belongings, and
cook and assistants prepares hot meals. Trekkers carry only small
bag or what they might need during the day. we provide dining
tents, sleeping tents, mattress and toilet tents. |

TREK IN LODGE. The lodges are simple mountain shelters,
providing meals (very good local food) and simple rooms with
2 or 4 beds (Only in Ledhar and Phedi, it is a common dormitory).
In each lodge, you find a room with water (same as shower) for
bath. The treks in lodge pass in a very convivial atmosphere
permitting to have a closer look of Nepalese mountain life and
to encounter new person every day. It also permits to be in warm
room (kitchen and restaurant room) in cold season

FOOD DURING
TREK: Base of meals during
the trek are, rice, noodles, potatoes, (porridge for breakfast).
all are slow-sugar, its the best food for well walking. In lodge-trek
the lunch is taken in lodges on the way ( hot meal). The guide
order the food |

Note: All participants have to give a copy
of their insurance, with the address, tel and fax number of insurance
company. This insurance has to cover the helicopter rescue in
case of accident or sickness. In case of your insurance don't
cover helicopter rescue, you have to fill a form in Kathmandu
and make agreement that you will pay yourself the amount of expenses
paid by Nepal Ecology Treks for your helicopter rescue or research.
Without this agreement, you cannot participate in trek.
** In
trek the guide is allowed
to change the itinerary, depending of the weather, climate and
the physical condition of participants. Each participant who
stop his trek or make this trek more-fast cannot ask any money
compensation to the agency. |
